FIFA Host Broadcast (HB) Intern Programme will offer media industry relevant internship opportunities to university students in the host cities of the upcoming FIFA World Cup™. More than 250 internship positions are available in selected cities of Canada, Mexico and USA in areas ranging from production, digital, engineering, communication, construction, human resources, finance, and Information technology. First implemented during the 2002 FIFA World Cup Korea/Japan™, this initiative was created to leave a lasting legacy in the field of sports TV production — enabling today’s university students to become tomorrow’s professionals behind high-quality sports productions.

360 Ingest Intern (Digital Team)
What is your role? Gathering 360° VR content from the 16 venues of the FIFA World Cup 2026™according to the guidelines. This content is post-produced for use by Media Right Licensees (MRLs) around the world. It can be viewed in a VR headset or on a tablet/mobile phone. You will be working closely with the production and venue staff.
What are your responsibilities?
- Capture 360° content on Matchdays including Team arrivals, Dressing rooms, Tunnel activity, Fans in tribune, Whistle to whistle on-field content including goal celebrations etc.
- Ingest content, via laptop, at the venue media compound and export to the Digital team at the IBC.
- Send end of match email detailing best clips, obstacles faced on-site, etc.
CCR Intern – Commentary Operations (Engineering Team)
What is your role? Assist the Commentary team in set-up of commentary positions and looking into their general needs.
What are your responsibilities?
- Assist in the Commentary Control Room for the first quality check of all commentary feeds as well as assisting in the Media Tribune with the Broadcasters installation.
- Help in setting up the commentary positions (install the technical and non-technical equipment).
- Test the commentary units before the match and adjust them with the commentators.
- Help commentators with any needs they may have in working with their commentary units.
- Work with the Commentary Control Units (CCUs) assisting the Commentary Manager, ensuring that all commentary feeds are transmitted to the correct broadcaster.
Liaison Intern
What is your role? Based at the Broadcast Information Office (BIO) in the stadium and relaying venue information/content to the Liaison team based at the International Broadcast Centre (IBC).
What are your responsibilities? Assist the key people from the Liaison Team.
- Broadcast Information Manager (BIM):
- Distribute general event/venue information and updates.
- Inform broadcasters about the location and setup of their booked facilities within the stadium.
- Assist with Broadcast Booking Tickets/Access (BBTs), according to the Booking confirmations, for distribution to the designated broadcasters.
- FIFA Media Partnerships Services Manager (MPSM), Senior Broadcast Liaison Officers (SBLOs) and Broadcast Liaison Officers (BLOs):
- Acting as first point of contact for Media Partners (MPs) at each venue who require local information and tips.
- Liaise with the Media Department at each site to ensure that broadcasters receive the same information as the press journalists.
- Providing support to MPs’ on-site unilateral operations.
- Labelling unilateral positions, timing interviews where needed, etc.
Production Intern (Production Team)
What is your role? Assist with overall management of host broadcast activities within the Broadcast Compound and Stadium.
What are your responsibilities?
- Assist the Venue Production Manager with their daily tasks.
- Preparing the distribution of bibs and SADs (Supplementary Access Devices).
- Printing all production documents, such as running orders.
- Distribution of the documentation to the key production people at the match venue.
- Making sure the commentator and co-commentator(s) have all documentation needed.
- Ensures the production team operates smoothly.
- Understanding the access routes to the different camera position and competition area to advise others.
Technical Operations Centre (TOC) / Cable Interconnection Room (CIR) Intern (Engineering Team)
What is your role? Support TOC operational team according to Match Media Right Licensees (MRLs) related Bookings.
What are your responsibilities?
- Support TOC operational team in patching of all videos, audio, and fiber signals within the CIR (cable Intercom Room) according to Match MRLs related Bookings.
- Support the Unilateral fully-equipped and One-camera packages operations – patching of the relevant camera positions within the pre-cabling patch panels in the CIR according to MRLs bookings.
