James W. McLamore Society

The James W. McLamore Society recognizes annual leadership gifts of $1,000 or more to the University of Miami. Members of the McLamore Society are an esteemed group of civic and community leaders who shape the University of tomorrow.
Gifts to the School of Communication support a range of initiatives in the School, including student scholarships, faculty support, upgraded technology, student internships, and conference travel. You can choose to support the School of Communication overall, the department in which your child is studying, or another specific fund.
James W. McLamore, the co-founder of Burger King, was dedicated to promoting education in the community. His name is synonymous with philanthropy and service, and as chair of the Board of Trustees from 1980 to 1990, McLamore led a historic $517.5 million fundraising campaign, spanning from 1984 to 1989. His leadership and generous support played an important role in shaping the University of Miami of today. We invite you to join McLamore by continuing to advance the mission of the University of Miami.

University of Miami Loyalty Society
The Loyalty Society recognizes committed alumni donors whose annual gifts serve as the foundation of the University of Miami’s growth. Gifts of any amount, given for two or more consecutive fiscal years (June 1-May 31) count toward Loyalty Society participation.
Annual gifts have a powerful impact on the University of Miami by influencing the University’s ability to meet new opportunities and emerging needs, while also honoring the timeless tradition of giving to the U. Loyalty Society members help pave the way to our success as an institution through collective support of the University of Miami.
Members of the Loyalty Society receive special invitations to local and regional University functions, a listing in the annual online honor roll of donors, and special news distributed quarterly on the impact of alumni gifts via the Loyalty News e-communication. The Loyalty Society Impact Report is an online resource that highlights statistics, stories, and successes that are a result of alumni generosity in the previous fiscal year. Loyalty Society members are among a special group of more than 10,000 alumni leaders whose annual gifts continue to create excellence and transform lives.
