Distraction is a sophisticated, high-gloss quarterly magazine that is committed to defining the culture of University of Miami’s student body. This publication serves as an entertaining and insightful “Distraction” to the daily stress of college life and features new trends in music, fashion, art, entertainment and student interests.

Founded in 1926, Ibis Yearbook is UM’s nationally award-winning, student-produced yearbook. Each year, a team of about 50 students documents campus life through writing, photography, and design, creating a 480-page record of major events, traditions, athletics, and everyday moments while gaining hands-on publishing experience.

Orange Umbrella is UM’s student-run, professionally led advertising agency, where students turn classroom skills into real-world experience. Working with actual clients, creative briefs, and deadlines, students gain hands-on experience across strategy and execution while building their portfolios and preparing for careers in the advertising industry.

Founded in 1929, The Miami Hurricane is UM’s student-run newspaper covering campus, local, and national news. Publishing online daily and in print throughout the academic year, the organization gives student writers, editors, photographers, and designers hands-on experience producing timely, engaging journalism for the UM community.

UMTV is UM’s award-winning, student-run television station, where students gain hands-on experience producing original programming with guidance from School of Communication faculty. Students work across live news, sports, comedy, entertainment, and Spanish-language programming, building practical skills both in front of the camera and behind the scenes.

Founded in 1968, WVUM is UM’s award-winning, student-run radio station, broadcasting across South Florida and streaming worldwide. Students gain hands-on experience in radio through music, news, public affairs, and sports programming while developing their voices and producing original content for a diverse audience.
