Mary Withers Rural Writing Fellowship | Boyd Station | Kentucky – DUE Jan. 20th
Job Posted December 16, 2025 | Communication Studies, Doctoral, Journalism
Mary Withers Rural Writing Fellowship | Boyd Station | Kentucky – DUE Jan. 20th

The Mary Withers Rural Writing Fellowship is an opportunity for college journalists or recent graduates to spend a summer on a Kentucky farm working on long-form, narrative articles chronicling rural America and published in the Louisville Courier-Journal. The winner of the fellowship spends three months in Boyd’s Station, a historic family farm in the heart of Kentucky’s Bluegrass region. Fellows share a house in Boyd’s Station with college photographers who are also grant recipients. They have access to office space in the Boyd’s Station Gallery in Cynthiana, Kentucky (about 20 minutes away). All fellows will work on separate projects but will have the opportunity to collaborate occasionally.
APPLICATION DEADLINE: JAN. 20, 2026
WHEN + WHERE
The Mary Withers Rural Writing Fellow is expected to be in Harrison County, Kentucky, for a continuous three-month period during the summer. Fellows are free to travel for personal reasons, but we encourage them to stay in Kentucky as much as possible. Exact dates will be determined by the fellow’s availability.
WRITING EXPECTATIONS
Fellows are expected to develop, report, and write two to three longform, enterprise news articles each summer. Boyd’s Station has a partnership with the Louisville Courier-Journal, whose editors revise the final drafts and publish the articles. Beyond those articles, the fellow is welcome to develop and write any other pieces that we will help publish in whatever outlet is ideal for that particular piece.
OVERSIGHT
Alan Gomez, a former reporter and bureau chief for USA Today, is the director of the fellowship and serves as the mentor/editor. He helps the fellow develop their story ideas, plot their reporting course, and edits drafts of each article. Alan does not live in Kentucky, so fellows must be motivated self-starters who can thrive without constant supervision.
PAYMENT
The fellow is awarded a $3,000 grant and free housing for the summer. They are also reimbursed for expenses related directly to their reporting, including gas. The only requirement is that the fellow have a car as reporting in Harrison County is impossible without one. If a fellow fails to meet the basic requirements of the fellowship, the grant money can be forfeited.

Content & Growth Marketing Consultant | Cisco | Remote
Job Posted November 24, 2025 | Advertising, Communication Studies, Journalism, Public Relations
Content & Growth Marketing Consultant | Cisco | Remote

Overview of the Role
The Content & Growth Marketing Consultant will play a key role in driving awareness, engagement, and adoption of Cisco Cloud Networking APIs and Marketplace solutions – and will be a flexible resource to support evolving needs across the Platform team. This includes everything from platform launches and event follow-ups to scaling AI-related narratives.
As a contributor to the Platform team, this individual will use multi-channel content creation, content optimization, and campaign execution to turn complex networking topics into clear, engaging, businessfocused stories.
This role is important to maintaining Cisco’s leadership in the rapidly growing cloud networking ecosystem while supporting the company’s broader go-to-market (GTM) strategies.
Recent graduates with experience in marketing, communications, or journalism are strongly encouraged to apply. If you’re comfortable researching technical topics and turning them into clear, engaging blog posts, you should apply — contact Julio Fernandez ~ juliof@cisco.com.
Why This Role Is Important
- Support for Strategic Business Growth: With the increasing demand for cloud networking solutions and APIs, Cisco needs a marketing consultant who can create compelling content that aligns with enterprise priorities. This role will:
- Tell the story of our AI-powered use cases. AI apps are already live in the Cisco Marketplace, and we will show how APIs and apps offer differentiated value.
- Develop content that engages IT decision-makers and technical audiences early in their journey.
- Highlight Cisco Cloud Networking solutions in key developer and IT decision-maker communities.
- Increase adoption of APIs and boost visibility in cloud marketplaces.
- Accelerated Time-to-Market: The consultant will help ensure that Cisco’s cloud networking messaging is consistent, timely, and competitive. This is crucial in the fast-paced cloud technology ecosystem, where agility and effective communication are essential to staying ahead.
- Scalability and Content Volume Requirements: With a goal of producing 8–10 content assets per month, this role ensures Cisco can meet the demand for quality marketing materials without sacrificing deadlines or standards. This role is a force multiplier for content — producing high-quality assets (blogs, points of view, etc.) and helping repurpose or extend existing materials to support campaigns, events, and demand-generation efforts.
- Alignment with Developer and API Ecosystems: Developers and API users are a critical audience for Cisco’s Cloud Networking products. This role brings a focus on messaging tailored to this audience, ensuring relevance in a highly technical market.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration The consultant will work closely with Product Marketing, Developer Relations, Revenue Marketing, and Engineering teams to maintain a consistent tone and brand alignment, strengthening cross-functional collaboration within Cisco.
Expected Business Impact
- Increased Awareness: Consistent, high-quality content will strengthen Cisco’s brand presence in the cloud networking and developer ecosystems.
- Revenue Growth: Improved marketplace visibility and API adoption will contribute directly to revenue from cloud networking solutions.
- Improved Customer Experience: Clear, business-driven messaging and optimized marketing materials will help customers understand the value of Cisco’s offerings, leading to higher satisfaction and loyalty.
- Competitive Differentiation: Monitoring competitor marketplaces and identifying positioning opportunities will help Cisco stay ahead of the competition.
Six-Month Objectives Aligned to Business Goals
The first six months of deliverables tie directly to Cisco’s strategic goals:
- AI + Ecosystem and API Messaging Library: Create a single source of truth to ensure consistent and effective communication.
- Content Calendar Execution: Drive ongoing engagement through blogs, webinars, and social media.
- Grow Organic Traffic: Boost partner and customer acquisition, contributing to higher ROI. Optimize content for discoverability and collaborate with Revenue Marketing on best practices.
Cost-Benefit Perspective
Given the contract nature of this role, Cisco avoids the long-term costs associated with a full-time hire while gaining access to a dedicated professional able to begin contributing quickly. The value shows up through:
- Increased awareness of how AI influences API and Marketplace solution adoption.
- Higher lead generation and organic web traffic.
- Stronger competitive positioning in a critical growth area.
Conclusion
The Content & Growth Marketing Consultant role is essential to Cisco’s Cloud Networking team. It brings the skills and execution needed to drive measurable business outcomes. By investing in this role, Cisco aligns with strategic growth priorities, increases the impact of content marketing, and strengthens its leadership position in the cloud networking ecosystem.
How to Apply
Send your resume to Julio Fernandez at juliof@cisco.com.
Recent graduates with strong writing samples (blogs, articles, or journalism pieces) and a clear interest in technology are especially welcome.

Creative Director – Golf Ad Campaigns On Social | Hills Golf | Remote

About Us
Welcome to Tryhills.com, where we design the kind of gear we wish existed when we first fell in love with the game. No gimmicks. Just thoughtfully crafted products made by golfers, for golfers.
Our Story
Hills Golf was born out of a simple frustration: most golf accessories looked the part, but didn’t hold up on the course. We wanted seemsless gear to smoothly help you enhance your game.
What started with a single magnetic towel system quickly turned into a full lineup of sleek, functional gear built to elevate your game and your style. Whether you're grinding on the range, walking 18 with friends, or heading to the clubhouse, Hills Golf is with you every step of the way.
Our Mission
Build gear that earns its place in your bag.
We focus on practical, performance-driven products that enhance the experience of golf — without overcomplicating it. If we wouldn’t use it, we won’t sell it.
The Role
We are Hiring Creative Directors / Small Production Crews (Students, Grads, or Creatives!) — Paid, Remote, Flexible
We’re looking to bring on a couple of creative, ambitious filmmakers — students, recent grads, or anyone with a strong creative pulse — to help us produce short-form direct-response marketing ads for Meta.
We need directors (or small teams) who can:
- Run small-scale production shoots
- Put together and manage their own lightweight crew
- Bring strong creative instincts and an understanding of social-first content
- Execute fun, engaging, professional short-form videos
The vibe: Creative freedom, small but capable teams, nothing over the top — just smart, well-executed marketing videos.
Bonus:
At least one person on the crew being a skilled golfer is a big plus (but not required!). Most shoots will take place on a golf course of your choosing.
Education Level
- Freshman
- Junior
- Senior
- Sophomore
- Graduate Student
To Apply
Send a short description of yourself, where you are at in your creative career, and your relationship to golf, do you play? Can you put together a team where one or more people in it are skilled golfers?
Also past work that you think describes your creative ability well! The more the better 🙂
Send all information to Maximilian Nyman at max.vekas@gmail.com, and say you are from the forum!
