ESPN’s Digital Editorial team creates, assigns and edits written content for our desktop and mobile platforms. We strive to serve our diverse audience with compelling, high-quality news reporting, analysis and storytelling that sports fans won’t see anywhere else. If selected for this role, you will report to a Senior Editor. The approximate dates of this internship are January through May.
What You Will Do:
As an Intern, you will be responsible for creating and editing content, with a primary focus on stories slated for the ESPN and Fantasy apps. You will have exposure to other divisions of ESPN through job shadowing, offering an opportunity to assess the inner workings of the company with an eye on potential career paths. Responsibilities include:
- Editing and polishing staff-generated and freelance articles, checking for accuracy, proper grammar, style and appropriateness
- Developing a solid understanding and appreciation of news and trending topics by leveraging story play on ESPN.com and the ESPN app
- Curating compelling content across digital platforms and compiling content aimed at serving specific fan bases
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Fundamental editorial judgment and an ability to balance priorities
- General knowledge of fantasy sports and/or sports betting
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and balance priorities in a remote environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience at a student newspaper, magazine or television station
- Previous internship experience in a professional environment
- Experience as both a writer and editor
Education:
- Be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months at time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship
- Major or previous coursework in Journalism, Communications, Media or related majors
Eligibility Requirements & Program Information
Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:
- Be at least 21 years of age
- Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program
- Possess unrestricted work authorization

- The approximate dates of this internship are January through May 2025
- This internship is a remote position and requires a working, reliable internet connection as well as a quiet, dedicated workspace
- Fully available from Monday through Friday for the duration of the internship, 40 hours each week. There may be some flexibility based on candidate’s academic schedule.
