Distraction magazine named ‘Magazine of the Year’

The student-run magazine was honored by the annual Michigan State University Design Contest for College Students. “Nip and Tuck.” That provocative title coupled with a similarly edgy picture of a woman ready for plastic surgery was one of several covers that helped garner a top award for the University of Miami’s student-led Distraction magazine. Ibis and Distraction Receive National Awards

It was a celebratory spring break for the Ibis and Distraction staffs. Two Gold Crowns, one Best of Show, a Second Place for Best of Show, and two Apples were awarded between two national conferences. Making Connections Across the Globe

UM senior Breana Ross was awarded the 2018 Global Citizen Award from a national study abroad company. When University of Miami senior Breana Ross left the United States last spring to study abroad in South Africa, she thought she had a grasp of what poverty looked like.
