Ibis and Distraction Win at CSPA

The 2017 Ibis yearbook won 57 Gold Circle Awards or individual awards from the Columbia Scholastic Press Association at Columbia University.   “This is an outstanding number of individual awards. The Majeri Award for Graphics Journalism recognizes innovation and leadership in the graphic journalism industry. Presented by the Ball State University Department of Journalism in Muncie, Ind., the award is given to an individual who has created a body of work that improves graphics reporting. UM Debate Wins 2018 Lafayette Debates

For the first time since the inception of the Lafayette Debates, a team composed of only women clinched the victory. On April 8, Leandra Lopez and Julia Lynch, top debaters representing the University of Miami, defeated the team from France’s École de Guerre to win the annual debate tournament held at the French Embassy in Washington D.C. UM Debate Defeats Clemson to Win the 2018 ACC Debate Championship

On March 3-4, The UM Debate Team traveled to Clemson, South Carolina to compete in the Fourth Annual Atlantic Coast Conference Debate Championship Tournament.
