WPVI-TV is an ABC owned television station (OTVS) located in a state-of-the-art facility in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. 6abc/Action News, is Philadelphia’s #1 source for news! For more than 50 years Action News has been bringing the biggest stories of the day to viewers in the Delaware Valley, an area covering Southeastern Pennsylvania, Delaware and Southern New Jersey, currently representing more than 8 million people!
This internship is a part-time, six-month commitment in the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania area from June 2026 – January 2027.
What You Will Do:
Our Action News is looking for an intern who wants to learn from the experienced team from Philadelphia’s #1 source for news. Our ideal candidate is ready to develop their news judgment, writing skills, and prepared to experience what broadcast news brings daily.
- Travel with reporters and photojournalists for newsgathering and live remotes, also assisting producers with election‑coverage content
- Write copy and edit video for newscasts
- Gain experience editing in Dalet
- Observe producers and executive producers in their respective roles
- Attend morning and afternoon editorial meetings
- Get an up-close look at how news is distributed beyond TV to our myriad of digital and social media platforms
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Previous experience in broadcasting, new media production or script writing
- Proficiency with video editing experience in Adobe Premiere
- Proficiency with social media
- Ability to thrive in a team environment but also work well independently
Education:
- Must be a junior, senior
- Declared major or previous coursework in a mass media/new media-related field

ABC News Publicity Intern, Summer/Fall 2026 – New York, NY

The ABC News Publicity department manages all media relations and internal and external communications for ABC News and its programs and platforms, including World News Tonight with David Muir, Good Morning America, Nightline, 20/20, This Week with George Stephanopoulos, The View, Tamron Hall, GMA3, ABC News Live, ABC News Studios, ABC News Digital, ABC News Audio, and ABC NewsOne. We handle press outreach, social media, and publicity campaigns to ensure our content reaches audiences effectively across all platforms.

What You Will Do:
You’ll join a team of professionals in a fast-paced environment where interns play a vital role and are relied on every day. - Compile and edit daily press clips, reporter media lists, and correspondent, anchor, and executive bios; support and lead coverage reports for ABC News Studios projects, including gathering press clips for documentary releases.
- Support and lead extensive clip tracking during breaking news or PR crisis situations.
- Maintain social media accounts, creatively disseminate program information, and design graphics using Canva.
- Assist with awards submissions by coordinating invitations, tracking RSVPs, and managing follow-up communications.
- Assist during virtual and in-person events, including occasional evenings and weekends.
- Participate in brainstorming and publicity strategy meetings, write press releases and loglines, and manage weekly status reports and highlights documents
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Adaptable and resilient in fast-paced environments, especially within a news organization. Hands-on, proactive mentality, and willingness to take on any task to support the team.
- Dependable, responsive, and accountable, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite and Canva; familiar with Muck Rack and social listening tools (Sprout, Sprinklr, or similar).
- Previous media or PR experience; flexible to support evening/weekend coverage and handle sensitive information with discretion
- Excellent writing, verbal, and interpersonal skills, collaborating effectively across departments and levels.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
- Basic knowledge of Adobe/MailChimp
- Existing knowledge of media and news
- Proficient in using and navigating ChatGPT and other AI tools

Education:
- Junior or Senior year. Senior preferred
- Major or previous coursework in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Advertising, Business Administration, or related major preferred
Eligibility Requirements & Program Information
Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:
- Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
- Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants: You may only work for ONE consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program.
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Possess unrestricted work authorization
Additional Information
- Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship
- Fully available from June 2026 through January 2027
- Fully available from Monday through Friday, primarily, and occasionally nights and weekends for the duration of the internship, 20- 40 hours each week
- Able to provide own housing for the duration of the internship program area
- Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work in the program area
