The PREP Team is Ready to Spring Into Action

The Public Relations Experience Program (PREP) kicked off the spring semester on Saturday, Jan. 20, at the Jackson Health Foundation’s 2018 Golden Angels Centennial Gala. Reflections on the 2018 NATPE Conference Internship

Every year, the National Association of Television Program Executives (NATPE) offers a competitive internship program that allows selected students to attend the conference and develop a greater knowledge of the television buying and distribution processes. Since 2011, the annual NATPE conference has been held in Miami Beach. Documentary Nominated in Several Categories at International Film Festival

The 2018 London International Filmmakers Festival recognized a feature documentary co-produced and edited by Konstantia Kontaxis, associate professor for the Department of Cinema and Interactive Media, with nominations in several categories. Flaming Classics Wins Knight Arts Challenge

Flaming Classics, a “curated film series that pairs classic films from the queer canon” and local drag artist performances, was announced as a winner of the Knight Arts Challenge on Dec. 4.  The Knight Arts Challenge gives funds to the best ideas for engaging and enriching communities through the arts. This year, the Knight Foundation offered the competition to four cities: Akron, Ohio; Miami; Detroit, and St. Paul, Minn. The Steven Joel Sotloff Memorial Endowed Scholarship Fund is awarded annually to a student pursuing journalism who demonstrates both academic success and financial need, and who is also a Florida resident. The scholarship is provided by 2Lives: Steven Joel Sotloff Memorial Foundation. Sotloff was a journalist who wrote for several publications including Time Magazine, The Christian Science Monitor, The Washington Post, and The L.A. Times.
