Society of Professional Journalists Focuses on Jobs and Internships

The Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ) is the oldest organization representing journalists in the United States. Joseph B. Treaster, professor in the Department of Journalism and Media Management, has recently revamped the University of Miami’s chapter of SPJ and is the group's adviser. “The Society of Professional Journalists at the University of Miami is focused on getting jobs and internships for its members,” Treaster said. SoC students to Create Campaign for Ron Magill Conservation Endowment Fund

Public Relations Campaigns, STC 436, is the capstone class for all University of Miami School of Communication public relations majors. The class works as a small firm, developing multifaceted campaigns for real-world clients. Previous clients include the John Offerdahl Gridiron Grill-Off, DJ Irie Foundation Weekend, and Herbert Wellness Center 20th Anniversary. The PREP Team is Ready to Spring Into Action

The Public Relations Experience Program (PREP) kicked off the spring semester on Saturday, Jan. 20, at the Jackson Health Foundation’s 2018 Golden Angels Centennial Gala. Reflections on the 2018 NATPE Conference Internship

Every year, the National Association of Television Program Executives (NATPE) offers a competitive internship program that allows selected students to attend the conference and develop a greater knowledge of the television buying and distribution processes. Since 2011, the annual NATPE conference has been held in Miami Beach. The 2018 London International Filmmakers Festival recognized a feature documentary co-produced and edited by Konstantia Kontaxis, associate professor for the Department of Cinema and Interactive Media, with nominations in several categories.
