UM Helps Launch Journalism Studies Research Network to Examine The Mexican Journalistic Landscape

Researchers from 11 Mexican and U.S. academic institutions, including the University of Miami School of Communication, have formed the National Journalism Studies Research Network to carry out the third wave of the Worlds of Journalism Study (WJS) in Mexico. Graduate Interactive Media Program Named a Top Program for Game Design

The University of Miami maintained its coveted spot as a top school for game design in 2019. UM was recognized by The Princeton Review on its list honoring the Top 25 Graduate Programs for Game Design.  The School of Communication Interactive Media M.F.A. program placed No. 25 this year. Vanessa Alonso, B.S.C. ’08, has made a name for herself in broadcast meteorology after being awarded the American Meteorological Society’s Certified Broadcast Meteorologist Seal of Approval in February. Exploring the Global Definition of Journalism

Considering the diverse political, social, and economic environments spanning the globe, the definition of journalism morphs from culture to culture. School of Communication Professor Jyotika Ramaprasad explored these diversities through extensive quantitative research in India and Botswana.
