The University of Miami School of Communication’s Interactive Media Show will be held on May 4. Guests of the event will be able to explore and play with projects created by students including virtual reality installations, physical computing systems, and interactive video. The Interactive Media Show is a part of Canes Film Festival.
“You will get to play with games, explore virtual reality, see immersive films and preview exciting prototypes for products our students are working on. It’s a really hands-on exhibit,” said Kim Grinfeder, associate professor and director of the Interactive Media Program.
The featured projects were developed by students of the Interactive Media Program. The projects were entered into a juried competition and will be on display at the Interactive Media Show in the newly constructed Koenigsberg and Nadal Interactive Media Center. Guests can expect to touch, play, and engage with a variety of interactive games and technology.
“The show is a great way to show the students’ work, but it’s also an opportunity for students to see an audience interact with their creations. Having people use their products and then get feedback from the community helps our students design better products,” said Grinfeder.
The Interactive Media Show takes place on May 4 at 5 p.m. at University of Miami School of Communication in the Koenigsberg and Nadal Interactive Media Center. The hands-on showcase is open to the public. For more information visit, https://interactive.miami.edu/canesfilmfestival/.
