The PRSSA elections were held Thursday, April 23 in Shoma Hall. Members of the club joined together to honor their graduating seniors and vote for the organization’s new executive board committee. Canes Film Fest Hype

On Thursday, April 9, PREP students took over the UC breezeway to promote the University of Miami’s 18th annual Canes Film Festival. PREP students tabled to raise awareness of the upcoming event by engaging with students and faculty passing by throughout the day. UM School of Communication Students Win 14 ADDYs

Mailers, apps and marketing campaigns characterized by their innovation led to School of Communication students taking home six gold and eight silver local ADDY awards. Students used skills learned in the classroom to take on corporate clients by creating campaigns for Mary Kay, Maker’s Mark and Johnnie Walker. They also tackled global and social problems, ingeniously addressing the issues of cyber bullying, Ebola and childhood obesity. How 25 Hours Without Sleep Produces Professional Advertising Campaigns for Nonprofits

Sleep is overrated. No one knows that better than Meryl Blau, faculty advisor to PhilADthropy and professor at University of Miami’s School of Communication. Since 2010, Blau has put together 16 teams of student and professional volunteers and led them on a 25-hour caffeine-fueled advertising rolling coaster. The end result? PR Students Work Behind-the-Scenes During PhilADthropy

By Meghan Allison In an event unlike any other, 16 teams of University of Miami students participated in PhilADthopy, a 25-hour blitz that ultimately produces free public relations, advertising, marketing and social media strategies to selected organizations. Despite Making Sacrifices, Iris Barrios Still Earns Her Degree

Iris Barrios might have been a forgotten casualty—one of the youngest victims of the war that raged between the Contras and the Sandinista National Liberation Front in her native Nicaragua from 1981 to 1988.
