Graduate Film Students Document Social and Health Issues in Guatemala

NBC Makeup Artist Works With Broadcast Students

NBC makeup artist Ana Limonchi visited students from CEM 517, 317 and 233 Monday afternoon, March 31 to give a talk and demonstration on "Studio and Field makeup in the Age of HD." PRSSA will host a fashion show from 7- 9 p.m. on Friday, April 11. Interactive Media MFA Hosts First Show in Wynwood

Graduate students in the new Interactive Media Master of Fine Arts program at the University of Miami School of Communication presented their first end-of-semester public show December 18 at The LAB Miami in Wynwood. Friends, family, guests from Miami's tech community and journalists attended the show, which featured a set of interactive prototypes built in Physical Computing and Programming for Designers courses.   The projects experiment with interactions between physical and digital worlds including games, musical instruments, interactive art and visualization. Interactive Media MFA Among Princeton Review’s Top Graduate Game Design Programs

The School of Communications Interactive Media Master of Fine Arts program has earned a No. 24 ranking on The Princeton Review's 2014 list of the best graduate schools to study video game design. Alumni create sequel to acclaimed Cheerios ad for Super Bowl XLVII

Behind one of the buzziest Super Bowl ads leading up to this Sunday’s ultimate football contest, Super Bowl XLVIII, are recent UM graduates Taylor Lucas, B.S.C. ’11, and Nick Marchese, B.S.C. ’11, billed, respectively, as the art director and copywriter for the 30-second Cheerios spot featuring a multiracial family.  University of Miami School of Communication (SoC) graduates Lucas and Marchese helped create the follow-up ad to a May 2013 Cheerios commercial featuring the same family—a black dad, a white mom, and their young daughter. Student Journalists Interview South Miami Mayoral Candidates

Mayor Phillip K. Stoddard and Commissioner Valerie Newman of the City of South Miami gave press conferences at the School of Communication to student journalists in Professor Joseph B. Treaster’s public affairs reporting class. The students are reporting and writing articles on the municipal election in South Miami on Feb. 11. Oscar-winning Director David Frankel to Work With Students on HIV Outreach Film

David Frankel, a producer, director and screenwriter of hit movies and television shows including The Devil Wears Prada, Band of Brothers, Marley & Me, Hope Springs and Sex and the City, will work with School of Communication students on an upcoming HIV outreach project.
