VIS Creator™ Program Description 

The VIS Creator™ internship program works closely with the Founder/CEO, VIS Editorial Team, VIS™ Brand Creative Team to create content for girls and women in sport ages 13-23. The program is designed to elevate college students that are passionate about advocating for women in sport. The internship provides the opportunity to create written, visual, and/or audio content across the various VOICEINSPORT digital channels. We approximate a 10-hour weekly time commitment during the academic year. 

Commitment:

We have two six-month Creator sessions each year:

  • Session #1: January 1st – July 1st
  • Session #2: July 1 – December 15th

10 hrs/ week during school months, 20 hrs/ week during July/ August

VIS Creator™ – Writing Team Role Description 

VIS writers create and contribute to content on our platform, contributing to articles and interviewing high-profile field experts and professional athletes. VIS Creators have the opportunity to attend live sporting events with media passes, interview Olympians, and connect with professional athletes across international sports leagues! 

Core Responsibilities: 

  • Complete two written articles per month for VIS platform. 
  • Interview VIS Experts™ in specific fields & VIS Mentors™ Examples: Aliyah Boston, one of the WNBA’s highest-paid athletes, Ally Sentnor, NWSL and USWNT player, Emma Maltais, PWHL player and Team Canada Olympian, Elise Cranny, two-time Team USA Olympian 
  • Attend a weekly writing team meeting 
  • Build the subscriber base and contribute to the Newsletter and Daily MoreVIS posts. 
  • Attend high profile sporting events to cover stories for the VIS Platform Examples: NCAA Women’s Final Four, WNBA ASW, USWNT Games, F1, etc. 

Qualifications 

Applicants interested in joining the writing team should: 

  • Must be a college student. 
  • Demonstrated experience in written communication, especially in public-facing or sports-focused outlets. 
  • Familiarity with Google Drive and G-Suite. 
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills. 
  • Passion for women’s sports, equality, inclusion, and community 
  • Preferred Applicant Majors, but not required: Journalism or Sport Journalism, Communication or English, Sports Management, Marketing
