
The People Inc. Summer Internship Program is a 9 week full time, paid program that runs from June 9th – August 8th, based out of our New York office. The intern program consists of hands-on learning opportunities to create work that has an impact on the business, along with workshops in preparing you for post-college life (resume / interviewing) plus fun events throughout the summer!

Eligibility Requirements:
- Internships are available to current Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors at an accredited college or university.
- You must be available to work full time for the entire 9 weeks of the program in the NY office, 3 days a week
- You must have access to your own housing and transportation to/from the NY office

Commerce
About the Team: The Commerce Marketing team at People Inc. drives consumer acquisition, retention, and engagement.
About the Role: This internship will support customer acquisition and retention marketing efforts, including campaigns targeting People Inc. readers and social audiences, as well as email and SMS programs designed to engage existing users. The role also involves assisting with promotion planning and scheduling, offering hands-on experience in marketing operations, content creation, campaign execution, and creative problem-solving.
Research
About the Team: Experts in our audiences & brands who get to work with data that supports our iconic and beloved brands, including: People, Allrecipes, InStyle, Byrdie, BHG, Investopedia, Travel + Leisure, & more. We develop & field research as well as analyze various datasets to uncover consumer attitudes, behaviors, and perceptions across People Inc.’s core lifestyle categories, brands, & businesses.
Our work combines strategic research design, data analysis, and storytelling to deliver insights that guide various parts of the business, including but not limited to advertising campaigns, account strategy, editorial content, sales and marketing narratives, licensing initiatives, and commerce strategies. Our team operates in a fast-paced, collaborative, and data-driven environment where we use primary research, People Inc’s proprietary data, and syndicated data for data storytelling and strategic initiatives.
About the Role: Become an expert in a specific category of our brands and audiences.Learn how to use People Inc’s first party data, syndicated research, marketplace and industry studies, and primary studies to uncover insights and use them to craft compelling stories to support existing and new advertising partnerships and broader corporate initiatives.Work cross functionally with Marketing, Account Strategy, and Sales teams to help with brand management, audience expansion, and sales initiatives.
PEOPLE APP
About the Team: The PEOPLE app brings the iconic storytelling, exclusives, and pop culture energy of PEOPLE to an entirely new platform — with a focus on daily discovery, interactive content, and dynamic user experiences. Our marketing team helps make that happen by building and executing campaigns that grow our audience and keep users coming back every day. From promoting daily PEOPLE Games, exclusive news and behind-the-scenes content, the marketing team collaborates with editorial, social, and product teams to create smart, creative strategies that drive installs, engagement, and brand love.
About the Role: The marketing intern supports the team in planning and executing campaigns that drive app installs and user engagement. The intern will help to develop and optimize promotional assets, monitor campaign placements across email, homepage, and social, and track performance metrics using internal dashboards. They also contribute to creative testing, competitor and campaign analysis, and participate in brainstorms for growth and retention initiatives. This role will be a good fit for the creatively-oriented, the analytically-oriented, or the intern who wants experience in both!
Talent
About the Team: The Talent team is responsible for identifying, sourcing, and securing the celebrities, influencers, experts, real people, and internal editors who appear in native content across People Inc.’s lifestyle verticals. The team leads talent strategy and sourcing during the pre-sale process and manages negotiations, contracting, and ongoing coordination once programs are sold.
About the Role: The intern will support the Talent team across the full talent management workflow, from sourcing talent for RFP pitches to assisting with post-sale coordination. Responsibilities include shadowing team members through key processes such as RFP evaluation, talent selection, and on-set production during local NYC shoots. The intern will provide administrative support, contribute to social-media–driven creative projects such as trend spotting and developing a Gen Z creator roster.
Measurement Innovation
About the Team: Measurement Innovation team works every day on measuring campaign performance with third party partners as well as our own proprietary measurement. Their work helps not just prove that advertising with People Inc. works, but also provides insights into what is working and where there are opportunities for improvement. This nuance is important, as it is a critical piece of motivating additional spend from our partners–we don’t just perform, we help you understand your consumers and reach them even better in the future.
About the Role: In this internship, you will help measure digital media performance across metrics such as brand awareness, consideration, foot traffic, and sales. You will own studies from start to finish—defining what to measure, setting up tagging and tracking, analyzing results, and delivering clear, insight-driven reporting. You will also join internal and client meetings to understand how measurement informs broader business decisions, with structured support to build your skills and confidence along the way.
Lifestyle Brand Marketing
About the Team: The Lifestyle Brand Marketing team shapes how People Inc.’s brands show up in the market by creating editorially driven go-to-market materials, developing and executing tentpole programs, and collaborating with editorial teams to build strategic revenue-driving opportunities for advertising partners across print, digital, and event platforms. Working closely with Editorial, Sales Marketing, Events, and the Digital & Print Sales teams, the Lifestyle Brand Marketing team ensures these programs are impactful and aligned across the organization.
About the Role: In this role, the intern will gain hands-on experience in how media programs are developed, marketed, and sold across editorial and revenue teams. This position offers a unique opportunity to learn how brand positioning and advertiser needs come together to form strategic marketing programs for some of the most influential Home & Parents brands in the industry, including: Better Homes & Gardens, REAL SIMPLE, Southern Living, Parents, The Spruce, Martha Stewart, Daily Paws, and The Spruce Pets.
As the Home & Parents Lifestyle Brand Marketing Intern, you will observe cross-department collaboration by shadowing senior team members and contribute to core activities such as identifying relevant social trends, participating in brainstorms for new offerings, creating slides for programs, and supporting the management of tentpole initiatives and special projects. In this role, you will also deepen your understanding of editorial workflows, event planning, and how brand positioning is shaped for advertisers.
Better Homes & Gardens – Social Media
About the Team: Better Homes & Gardens is the go-to resource for fresh takes on home, food, and gardening, with an emphasis on enjoyment, not perfection. We inspire people to bring their dreams to life at home on special occasions and every day! The BHG editorial team has extensive industry experience and we are as passionate about our homes and home projects as our readers are. Our team is comprised of savvy editors and writers who have their finger on the pulse—we’re always ready to share our interpretation of the latest TikTok recipe or predict the newest design trend.
About the Role: As a Better Homes & Gardens Social Media Intern at People Inc., you will help support the social media team in planning, producing, and posting content on key social media platforms. Learn about analytics and share wins or misses during team meetings. Work directly with a legacy brand and have an opportunity to create social content, assist in cross-team collaboration, and present performance data to continue to drive engagement and brand loyalty for BHG audiences. Programmatic Revenue
About the Team: The Programmatic Revenue Marketing team supports the exciting and rapidly developing Programmatic and Retail Media Sales organizations of People Inc. by developing go-to-market materials such as sales collateral and responses to requests for proposals (RFPs).
About the Role: As a member of the Programmatic team, the intern will be in a unique position to interact with all advertising categories and Advertising Operations teams across the organization. In this role, the intern will support the Programmatic Revenue Marketing team in developing marketing materials that span concept creation through final execution.
They will assist in crafting go-to-market assets, sales collateral, and proposal submissions, gaining exposure to the advertising sales process as well as the ad-tech, data, and AI capabilities that underpin our advertising solutions. The intern will also contribute to a cross-category keystone project that demonstrates their ability to translate business needs into effective marketing outputs.
