The Media Management Association welcomed its first guest speaker of the year, Paul Vignau, the director of sales at Comcast Spotlight who was accompanied by Henry Ortiz, an associate account executive and University of Miami (UM) alumnus. Society of Professional Journalists Focuses on Jobs and Internships

The Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ) is the oldest organization representing journalists in the United States. Joseph B. Treaster, professor in the Department of Journalism and Media Management, has recently revamped the University of Miami’s chapter of SPJ and is the group's adviser. “The Society of Professional Journalists at the University of Miami is focused on getting jobs and internships for its members,” Treaster said. Reflections on the 2018 NATPE Conference Internship

Every year, the National Association of Television Program Executives (NATPE) offers a competitive internship program that allows selected students to attend the conference and develop a greater knowledge of the television buying and distribution processes. Since 2011, the annual NATPE conference has been held in Miami Beach. Fall 4C Pilot Grants Awarded

Master’s Program Created for Media Management

The University of Miami School of Communication has added a 34-credit Master of Science in Media Management to its existing graduate programs. The new program, which starts in fall 2018, allows students to advance their career interests in the media industry in areas such as distribution, sales, news and entertainment programming, research, and analytics.
