The University of Miami received two honors from the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Suncoast Chapter: a win for UMTV and the opportunity to host the inaugural Suncoast Student Production Awards. UM Helps Launch Journalism Studies Research Network to Examine The Mexican Journalistic Landscape

Researchers from 11 Mexican and U.S. academic institutions, including the University of Miami School of Communication, have formed the National Journalism Studies Research Network to carry out the third wave of the Worlds of Journalism Study (WJS) in Mexico. Exploring the Global Definition of Journalism

Considering the diverse political, social, and economic environments spanning the globe, the definition of journalism morphs from culture to culture. School of Communication Professor Jyotika Ramaprasad explored these diversities through extensive quantitative research in India and Botswana. Ibis and Distraction Receive National Awards

It was a celebratory spring break for the Ibis and Distraction staffs. Two Gold Crowns, one Best of Show, a Second Place for Best of Show, and two Apples were awarded between two national conferences.
