Call for Entries: Wine Spectator Foundation Competition To Award Up To $50,000 For Student Projects

The Wine Spectator Foundation will award up to $50,000 to School of Communication undergraduate and graduate students for projects about wine, food, restaurants, travel or tourism. Such projects may include, but are not limited to, a video or short documentary, news or feature writing, a press kit, an advertising project, a graphic design project, a photography portfolio, multimedia (website) or a scholarly paper. Student Journalists Interview South Miami Mayoral Candidates

Mayor Phillip K. Stoddard and Commissioner Valerie Newman of the City of South Miami gave press conferences at the School of Communication to student journalists in Professor Joseph B. Treaster’s public affairs reporting class. The students are reporting and writing articles on the municipal election in South Miami on Feb. 11. "The Audacity of Beauty," a 25-year retrospective of photographer and photojournalism lecturer Maggie Steber's work in Haiti, will be presented on Thursday, Feb. 20 at 6 p.m. at the Otto G. Richter Library.
