On March 28, University of Miami School of Communication’s Fourth Annual Communication Meet-Up will enable students and alumni to connect with professionals from a variety of communication fields. Two UM Publications Win Top Awards

They took their talents from South Beach to Long Beach, Calif. for three days of workshops and networking, and to learn if two University of Miami publications would earn a “Best of Show” award. Staying Up All Night for a Good Cause

Society of Professional Journalists Focuses on Jobs and Internships

The Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ) is the oldest organization representing journalists in the United States. Joseph B. Treaster, professor in the Department of Journalism and Media Management, has recently revamped the University of Miami’s chapter of SPJ and is the group's adviser. “The Society of Professional Journalists at the University of Miami is focused on getting jobs and internships for its members,” Treaster said. Winston Warrior, a double alumnus, joins the Department of Journalism and Media Management after working for more than 20 years in the marketing industry. A new student-run consultancy is ready to take on clients at University of Miami School of Communication. Orange Umbrella Student Consultancy recently opened, offering an array of services to clients including public relations, advertising, interactive media, film production, research, and web design.
