Starting in the spring semester of 2016, selected senior and junior students majoring in motion pictures or media management will have the opportunity to gain professional experience through a 14-week semester in Los Angeles.

The semester is supervised by School of Communication faculty and taught in LA by handpicked adjuncts with professional experience and advanced degrees.  Program participants will be expected to take 12 credits of classes and three credits of supervised internship.

“I’m personally extremely excited because this semester in Los Angeles offers a huge opportunity to our media management and motion picture students,” says School of Communication Professor Michel Dupagne.

The semester in LA teaches students material that is unique to the program and enhances the education received at the School of Communication. Throughout the 14 weeks, students will be immersed in the film and television industry with behind-the-scenes access, including studio tours and interactions with industry professionals.

“We will be able to enhance our connection with School of Communication alumni in Los Angeles,” says Dupagne. “For students interested in media distribution and production management, this experience will be highly important.”
