Two UMTV Shows Nominated for College Television Awards

For the first time in over 15 years, two of UMTV’s weekly shows were nominated for the Television Academy Foundation 39th College Television Awards, one of the most prestigious honors for student production in the country. UM Debate Wins Tournament Championships in National Opener

The UM Debate team dominated its competition at the National Opener hosted by Georgia State University in Atlanta, one of the largest and most intensely competitive intercollegiate policy debate tournaments in the country. Advertising Alumna Wins Top Award at Cannes Lions

The 2017 Ibis yearbook won 57 Gold Circle Awards or individual awards from the Columbia Scholastic Press Association at Columbia University.   “This is an outstanding number of individual awards. The Majeri Award for Graphics Journalism recognizes innovation and leadership in the graphic journalism industry. UM Debate Wins 2018 Lafayette Debates

For the first time since the inception of the Lafayette Debates, a team composed of only women clinched the victory. On April 8, Leandra Lopez and Julia Lynch, top debaters representing the University of Miami, defeated the team from France’s École de Guerre to win the annual debate tournament held at the French Embassy in Washington D.C.
