About the Role & Program
The ABC News Talent Development team oversees the hiring and growth of both on-air and off-air talent! This includes the implementation of programs, fellowships, and initiatives aimed at enhancing and broadening our talent pools.
The approximate dates of this internship are June 2026 through early January 2027.
What You Will Do
- Assist with supporting various development programs, such as fellowships, mentorship initiatives, and virtual events/conference planning. Your role may include coordinating logistics, assisting with scheduling, and ensuring the smooth execution of these programs.
- Assist in leading social media accounts, crafting content, and encouraging engagement improves the organization’s online presence.
- Provide research around talent & coordinate profiles and bios.
- Data entry for new system for talent tracking/feedback.
- Help with searches for freelance producers/talent for long form unit and news division
- Access to talent staff meetings to provide you with insights into the decision-making processes regarding talent engagement, reel screening, and other key aspects.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Experience with multi-tasking in a constantly evolving work environment, effectively balancing and prioritizing multiple projects
- Experience using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Experience working in collaborative environments, and researching and/or using a range of tools to acquire information and present findings
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of ABC News shows and talent
- Experience related to social media including Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, and YouTube
- Familiarity with and/or interest in news stories and talent development
- Experience with using Airtable
Education
- Major or previous coursework in Journalism, Communications, Media Studies, Film/Television or a related field
- Junior or Senior year preferred

Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:
- Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
- Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants: You may only work for ONE consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program.
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Possess unrestricted work authorization

- Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship

- Fully available to work 40 hours per week (hours and days to be determined by your supervisor and could include nights and/or weekends)

ABC News Podcast Production Intern, Summer/Fall 2026
About the Role and Program:
Join the podcast team at ABC News as a Podcast Production Intern! This role is an exciting opportunity to work with a small but dynamic team that produces and publishes podcasts in the genres of news and true crime. You will gain hands-on experience with popular shows like “Start Here,” “The View: Behind the Table,” and true crime programming under the 20/20 brand. This internship offers a comprehensive understanding of podcast production, from story selection to seeing the finished product rise in the charts.
This internship is a full-time, six-month commitment in the New York, New York area from June 2026-January 2027.
What You Will Do:
As a Podcast Production Intern, you will be involved in both creative and operational tasks. You will assist producers with recording studio sessions, research competitor programming for marketing purposes, and aggregate analytics data on podcast performance.
On any given day you might:
- Sit in on a studio recording, assisting with setup and breakdown
- Join a collaborative brainstorm for an upcoming launch’s title and artwork design, sharing your ideas, based on competitive research, on how best to make the story pop
- Identify exciting clips from new releases to make our content stand out on social media
- Research a prospective podcast sponsor, preview a script for a podcast ad, or quality-check an ad recording before it goes live
- Participate in an editorial meeting for our daily news podcast, a true crime narrative, or chat show
Required Qualifications:
- A demonstrated interest in news
- Familiarity with and interest in the true crime genre
- Experience using audio editing software such as Adobe Audition, ProTools, or Audacity
- Keen interest in a career in podcasts, either in production or business
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in journalism, television, news media production, or script writing
- Avid consumer/creator of podcasts

ABC News Assignment Desk Intern, Summer/Fall 2026

The ABC News Assignment Desk is at the center of ABC’s newsgathering operation, coordinating coverage across broadcast, digital, radio, and affiliate platforms. As an intern, you’ll gain hands‑on experience in a real-time breaking news environment and learn how a 24/7 global news organization operates.
This internship is a full-time, six-month commitment in the New York, New York area from June 2026-January 2027.
A Day in the Life…
You will support multiple ABC News platforms, including the Assignment Desk, NewsOne (ABC’s TV Affiliate News Service), and ABC News Radio. Responsibilities may include:
Assignment Desk
- Answering phones and assisting with daily newsroom operations
- Conducting research and pitching story ideas
- Booking travel and coordinating logistics for field crews
- Pitching stories, research, making editorial calls, logging video feeds and transcribing tapes
- Writing stories or assist with livestream content for ABC News Digital
NewsOne
- Cutting packages and fulfilling affiliate content requests
- Collaborating with NewsOne managers, producers, and correspondents
- Contributing to feature stories for NewsOne affiliates
News Radio
- Supporting affiliate stations with content needs
- Transcribing correspondent packages and soundbites
- Assisting radio anchors, newswriters, and correspondents
- Pitching stories to Start Here, ABC News’ flagship daily news podcast
What we are looking for…
- An avid news reader with a genuine interest in current affairs
- Detail oriented, works well under pressure and excellent multi-tasking skills
- Demonstrated interest (academic or internship) in journalism or production
- Experience working in a newsroom for an affiliate, newspaper, or established online publication preferred
- Strong verbal and written communications skills
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office

WABC – TV (ABC7) Programming Intern, Summer/Fall 2026
About the Role & Program:
WABC-TV, the flagship Disney/ABC–owned television station in New York, is the most-watched television station in the New York Television market and the United States! WABC also leads the market in station websites and has the highest social media engagement!
This internship is a part-time, six-month commitment in the New York, New York area from June 2026-January 2027.
What You Will Do:
You will work directly with our Executive Producer and Senior Producer. You will be immersed in all aspects of production: assisting on field shoots, transcribing, and logging taped interviews, researching/fact-checking, and capturing post-production elements such as graphics and music. You will also get the opportunity to work with our Promotions, News, and Art Departments. You will learn the process of how we get our programs on the air. You will also learn about FCC regulations, music rights, and licensing.
At the end of this internship, you will have a good idea of where your area of interest truly lies and will learn the skills vital to make it in the television business.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Experience with video production
- An interest in being a part of a fast-paced agile organization
- Attention to detail, and demonstrated strong organizational skills
- Proven ability to partner effectively and work in a team environment
- Active interest in TV/entertainment supported by relevant experience, coursework, or industry awareness.
