The University of Miami community is invited to an advance screening of WAVES at the Bill Cosford Cinema on Nov. 20 from 1:25-4 p.m. The screening will be followed by a Q&A with the film’s director, Trey Edward Shults. WAVES is set against the vibrant landscape of South Florida and traces the epic emotional journey of a suburban African-American family—led by a well-intentioned but domineering father—as they navigate love, forgiveness, and coming together in the aftermath of a loss.
