The People Inc. Summer Internship Program is a 9 week full time, paid program that runs from June 9th – August 8th, based out of our New York office. The intern program consists of hands-on learning opportunities to create work that has an impact on the business, along with workshops in preparing you for post-college life (resume / interviewing) plus fun events throughout the summer!

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Internships are available to current Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors at an accredited college or university.
  • You must be available to work full time for the entire 9 weeks of the program in the NY office, 3 days a week
  • You must have access to your own housing and transportation to/from the NY office  

Pay Range: Hourly – $20.00

Backend Brand Platform

About the Team: The brand platform team maintains a custom, high performance web application framework used by internal teams to power the websites of America’s largest publisher.

About the Role: This internship offers hands-on exposure to software development within a collaborative, cross-functional environment. Interns will have the opportunity to shadow developers during stakeholder and cross-team meetings, pair program on small change requests, and participate in code reviews to deepen their technical understanding and practical skills.

Product (D/Cipher)

About the Team: The D/Cipher product team manages the prioritization and feature development for the systems and tools needed to support the D/Cipher managed service business.  D/Cipher is a cookieless, intent-based targeting platform that uses first-party data and content signals to connect advertisers with consumers at key decision moments across People Inc.’s digital brands.

About the Role: Interns will support the D/Cipher product team through product analytics, auditing data capture, building reports, generating insights, and recommending additional tagging. They will also assist with the review and testing of new agentic features within D/Cipher, validating use cases, conducting practical user testing, and documenting results. In addition, interns will gain exposure to defining design requirements and presenting them to design teams as part of the iteration and development of D/Cipher+ features.

About the Team: The Healthy Domains team ensures that People Inc.’s content ecosystem remains high-quality, discoverable, and aligned with modern search standards. We focus on technical SEO and platform-level optimizations that improve how our content is understood, indexed, and ranked by search engines. By strengthening site architecture, optimizing domain performance, and implementing SEO best practices at scale, we help maximize visibility and deliver trustworthy information to users.

In today’s AI-driven search landscape—where ranking signals, content evaluation, and crawl behavior evolve rapidly—our work is more critical than ever. Maintaining technical excellence and search health ensures that People Inc.’s content continues to reach audiences reliably, remain competitive, and uphold our reputation for quality.

About the Role: As an intern on the Healthy Domains team, you will work on the technical systems that shape search performance and domain health, contributing improvements to structured data, metadata, sitemaps, crawl optimization, and other SEO components. You will take on well-scoped engineering tasks, lead a focused project such as enhancing domain-health tooling or building SEO automations, and collaborate with engineers, SEO specialists, and editorial teams to validate changes and support cross-functional search strategies.
