In an event unlike any other, 16 teams of University of Miami students participated in PhilADthopy, a 25-hour blitz that ultimately produces free public relations, advertising, marketing and social media strategies to selected organizations.
The teams worked at the School of Communication courtyard from 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 6, through the night, and finished at 11 a.m. the next day. Sponsors like Lime, Sir Pizza and Sergio’s provided sustenance to keep the participants energized as PREP students carried out all of the necessary tasks to keep the event organized.
Although the most important job was organizing food breaks to keep workers fueled, PREP students also helped the event run smoothly by setting up the courtyard beforehand, cleaning up and breaking everything down after the teams began their final client presentations.
Working for the PhilADthropy event allows PREP students to experience public relations specialized in event planning and a logistics centered facet. PREP students worked behind-the-scenes to ensure PhilADthropy’s success while shaping their skills for future events.
