Newsgathering & Operations Intern – is responsible for all logistics, transmission and engineering for day-to-day news coverage, as well as special projects. Will rotate between all Newsgathering Operations departments.
News Talent Strategy & Development Intern – support News Talent Development team which oversees the hiring and growth of both on-air and off-air talent.
“The View” Production Intern – provides a multi-layered understanding of all aspects necessary for the production of a live television show. Interns play a vital role in all aspects of operations and production.
Early Morning News Production Intern – interns have the opportunity to collaborate with producers, attend editorial meetings and learn the inner workings of show operations. ** To Qualify, must be willing to work a regular overnight shit (in person) from 8pm – 4am, Sunday-Thursday**
ABC News Live Intern – Interns perform a variety of duties, assisting producers and staff with all aspects of production.
Nightline Production Intern – gain exposure to the inner-workings of a network broadcast—from pitching stories to seeing the final product on the air.
GMA3 Production Intern – GMA3: What You Need to Know is a news, health, and lifestyle program. Interns will put together research packets, book potential guests, maintain a production calendar, pitch segment ideas as well as general administrative support.
Good Morning America, Production Intern – GMA interns provide production and operation support to the booking, digital, and field and series teams.
20/20 Production Intern – Interns will support the production team in various aspects such as booking interviews, helping during breaking news situations, assist in logging and transcribing media content, participate in the preparation and execution of shoots, and more!
Preferred Qualifications: (varies by position)
- Previous internship experience in a professional newsroom setting.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office with an emphasis in MS Word, Access, Excel & PowerPoint
- Some experience related to social media including Twitter, Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram, YouTube
- Familiarity with ABC News shows
- Basic proficiency (academic or previous internship) with non-linear editing software (Avid specifically)
Education:
- Be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months at time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship
- Undergraduate students in their Junior or Senior year preferred
- Major or previous coursework in Journalism, Communications, Media Studies, Film/Television or a related field
Eligibility Requirements & Program Information:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Possess unrestricted work authorization
- Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or Disney College Program.
- Must be able to work on-site in New York City and have reliable transportation to/from work
- Program Length: The approximate dates of this internship are January 2025 through June 2025.
- Candidate must be available to work 40 hours/week in Eastern Standard time for the duration of the internship- could be nights, weekends and possible overnights
