The College of Arts and Sciences seeks a social media student intern for Fall 2024 to work in the office of communications assisting with social media content creation. The role will range from creating Reels and designing graphics to taking photos for social media content.
The College of Arts and Sciences is the biggest academic unit on campus and has many departments to strategically support in terms of marketing and communications. This position is open to full-time enrolled students at the University of Miami and will directly report to the Digital Marketing Specialist at the College.
The social media intern will gain experience in planning and creating social media content, executing a social media strategy and taking a look at analytics. In addition, the intern can receive up to 3 credit hours for internship through their major.
This student will work a maximum of 15 hours a week in the office and must have availability during the day to be present. Some work may be completed remotely (editing and other simple tasks that apply to remote work).
Responsibilities:
- Working with the whole student team on creating social media content
- Taking photos at events and on campus, helping with man-on-the-street interviews, editing photos and videos for social
- Live social coverage at big CAS events
Preferred Skills and Abilities:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Experience using a phone camera and DSLR camera equipment
- Canva and CapCut use is a plus! We have pro subscriptions to both for you to use
- Ability to multitask and take on new tasks as assigned
