The Event Technicians primary responsibility is to provide entry level A/V and broadcast support across a range of live events for the HEAT Group: Miami HEAT NBA Basketball games, Concerts, Special Corporate and Marketing Events. Event Technicians assist with executing the day-to-day operations of the Broadcast Services Department including to but not limited to setup and breakdown of equipment; maintenance, repair and general care of all related a/v and broadcast equipment; also responsible for operating house sound and lights necessary to produce various in-house events.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The following are examples of the various functions required. The job requirements are not limited to the items on this list
- Works with HEAT Group Departments regarding audio-visual requirements for events:
- PowerPoint presentations, audio and video conferences
- Operation of audio-visual equipment during events with the aim to provide high quality visual presentation standards
- Positioning, installation and operation of equipment within all event areas.
- Perform all necessary pre-event checks as required for the event.
- Cooperate with specialized production agencies and visiting media companies in the provision of events and broadcasts.
- Set up & support press conferences
- Operate and troubleshoot all arena production equipment and installations, demonstrating professionalism and the highest level of expertise.
- Event Technician serve as liaison with tenants and event promoters to assist with arena broadcast connectivity and to ensure all A/V systems are running at optimal level.
- The position involves a high degree of exposure, working with all levels of staffing and visitors including executive management and other high profile figures to provide live event services.
- The Event Technician may assist with pre-event planning and resource scheduling, technical briefing, live event management, technical delivery and post-event wrap-up

- Event Technician must be a team player with good oral communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational skills, time management skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Develops and maintains effective working relationships with all arena personnel and external clients.
- Must have technical experience in video systems, lighting, live sound reinforcement.
- Must be able to work and complete tasks with minimal Supervision.
Education and/or Experience:
- Must have high school diploma or G.E.D.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in the professional a/v or broadcast industry.
- Entry level technical proficiency in A/V systems, broadcast and theatre lighting technologies.
