The University of Miami Miller School of Medicine’s John P. Hussman Institute for Human Genomics (HIHG) provides college students an opportunity for hands-on experience in various facets for individuals interested in gaining work experience with a non-profit, health and biomedical research organization.

Responsibilities:
- Research and write original and engaging articles on various topics related to the Hussman Institute (research and educational outreach programs)
- Develop content for branding, organic and paid social media, digital marketing ad messaging, advertising campaigns, press releases, print collateral, and newsletters.
- Edit and proofread your own work to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency.
- Use SEO best practices to optimize your content for search engines and increase web traffic.
- Stay up to date on industry trends to support content development.
- Collaborate with the communications team and faculty to learn from them and ensure factual correctness and relevance of the content.
- Convey complex concepts and language into content that is easily understood.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment and consistency in messaging, branding and style.
- Deliver high-quality content within the given timeframe.
- Work with the communications team to build editorial calendars.
