Over the weekend of Oct. 25, 2019, the University of Miami policy debate team of Zachary Homeijer and Julia Lynch competed in the Varsity division of the Wayne State Ziegelmueller Invitational in Detroit, Michigan. During the competitive two days of debates, Miami defeated teams from Emory University, University of Indiana, and University of Iowa. Homeijer and Lynch ultimately ended as the 11th seeded team, just one spot short of qualifying for the elimination rounds. The policy team looks forward to traveling to George Mason University as they continue debating the merits of international cooperation over outer space.
