University of Miami School of Communication is hosting the 68th Annual Student Media Awards on May 2.
“The Student Media Awards are a chance to recognize students for all their hard work throughout the academic year,” said Sam Terilli, department chair for the Department of Journalism and Media Management and associate professor.
This year’s guest speaker is alumnus Bryan Llenas, B.S.C. ’10, who works as a New York-based correspondent for Fox News Channel. In 2015, Llenas moderated University of Miami President Julio Frenk’s town hall.
The Student Media Awards are sponsored by the Department of Journalism and Media Management and presented by AERho, Distraction magazine, Ibis yearbook, The Miami Hurricane, the Media Management Association, and UMTV.
The 68th Annual Student Media Awards take place on May 2 at 6 p.m. in Shoma Hall, CIB 3053. This event is open to the entire university community. Food and refreshments will be served.
