WB Games Integrated Communications Intern: LA – Summer 2024

This position will support press and influencer/creator campaigns across the Warner Bros. Games portfolio. Responsibilities include research, tracking and compiling media coverage and drafting communications documents and press materials. The role will also include working with external agency partners and other functional groups within Warner Bros. Games.

WB Games Brand Marketing Intern: LA – Summer 2024

The Mashups Brand team is at the forefront of what games marketing can be at Warner Brothers.  We have the unique opportunity of helping to define how our business evolves from a CPG approach to marketing games to live services approach.  This opportunity and responsibility makes our roles distinct and interesting on a day to day basis and makes us a key driver for the future of games marketing here at WB.

WB Games Social and Community Intern: LA – Summer 2024

The Social and Community Team at Warner Bros. Games is the front lines of AAA game marketing and community. This team assists in the Social Media day-to-day operations of our upcoming titles and shares their love for the gaming world. Get a foot in the industry and learn valuable skills, including content creation, social media advertising, and account management.

Your Role Accountabilities 

Duties could include: 

  • Compile, analyze and distribute coverage reports
  • Assist with influencer FTC (Federal Trade Commission) compliance
  • Research of competitive products and trends
  • Assist in the day-to-day Social Platform operations for current titles, including Mortal Kombat 1, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, MultiVersus, and other upcoming games
  • Assist in the daily management of WB Games Brand Channels, including Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube
  • Draft copy for Community Management, planned creative, and other external facing messaging
  • Provide timely reporting and analysis of campaign initiatives and competitors
  • Capture game footage for unique Social trends and activations
  • Stay up to date on new social media tools, breaking news, emerging platforms, and best practices
  • Brainstorm tactics to benefit our game and brand strategies
  • Monitor & analyze campaign performance

Qualifications & Experience 

  • Understanding of and affinity for videogames and pop culture
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
  • Knowledge of basic spelling, grammar, punctuation, and English Extremely detail-oriented and organized, with a strong ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • A team-first, collaborative mentality and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong creative thinking, communication, writing and time management skills
  • A high degree of drive, accountability, and initiative
  • Strong experience with using the internet for research
  • Must be actively enrolled in an accredited college or university degree program for the full duration of the internship (proof of enrollment required)  
  • Must be a rising Junior, Senior Undergrad Student (18 years or older)  
  • Must be in academic good standing (3.0 or above GPA)  
  • Warner Bros. Discovery will only consider candidates who are presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and who will not require work visa sponsorship from Warner Bros. Discovery now or in the future in order to retain their authorization to work in the United States. 

The Nice to Haves

  • Play Video Games of any kind regularly
  • Photo/Video Editing Skills
  • Discord Community Experience
  • Experience creating content for Social Media
  • Well-rounded knowledge of entertainment, pop-culture, and comic book culture
  • Prior working experience in public relations, marketing, social media management, consumer technology or videogames
  • Prior experience with industry standard tools, including Cision, Muck Rack, Mailchimp, etc.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Advanced Microsoft Excel, Python, etc.

What to know before applying: 

  • The duration of the summer program regardless of which start/end option is 11 weeks.   
  • Program date options: 
  • Option 1: June 3rd β€“ August 16th  
  • Option 2: June 10th β€“ August 23rd  
  • Interns will be expected to work 35-40 hours per week in a hybrid capacity.  
  • Our internships are paid opportunities with a competitive hourly wage. Credit is not required; however, we will provide the necessary documentation for school credit if desired. Relocation is not provided.  
  • Interviewing will take place from February through mid-April. A WBD team member will contact you if your experiences and interests match an open internship position. Due to the high volume of applications, we are unable to give individual status updates.

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The rate listed is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery’s total compensation package for employees. Pay Rate: $19 per hour USD for undergrad interns, $25 per hour USD for graduate level interns.
