The Miami Water Adventure Channel is seeking experienced and knowledgeable volunteers to join the team for an interactive summer camp experience. We are looking to bring the magic of Biscayne Bay into the homes of kids and people with disabilities, through live and pre-produced broadcasting and content creation at Shake A Leg in Miami. The multi-platform approach will be designed and coordinated by the formation of several small teams of volunteers, and through the collaboration of those groups.

Logistics. The dates of the summer camp are July 14 through August 13. All team members will need to be available the week before camp activities begin for collaboration and preparation of materials, as well as participation in necessary training. The in-person aspect of the camp is split into a morning session and an afternoon session. There will be live camp broadcasts on Monday-Friday, that follows the activities and develop pre-produced stories for use in subsequent daily broadcasts.                                                                                                                

Broadcast Team. This team is responsible for the production and development of a live camp broadcast, as well as pre-produced content that will air throughout. Candidates should be prepared to hold a variety of roles throughout the live broadcast, including camera, audio, and logistical support as needed, and have the ability to gather and produce stories/pieces using cameras and editing software. The ideal candidate is a team player with great people and communication skills who has the ability to innovate and execute. Experience with newsgathering, journalism, storytelling, mobile content gathering, and editing in Adobe Premiere or related software is preferred.                                                                                                                    

Social Media Team.  This team is responsible for creating and scheduling posts for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other platforms. This team will set the vision for our social media channels and will collaborate with the broadcast team to cross-promote content. The ideal candidate is a team player with great people and communication skills who has the ability to innovate and execute. Candidates should have a deep understanding of all social media channels, and the ability to analyze performance and adjust content strategy accordingly.

Outreach Team.  This team is responsible for all marketing and promotion initiatives for the channel’s live broadcasts, including daily mass emails to participants with the activity schedule. This team will actively reach out to local news organizations and community members, as well as create and distribute promotional materials through a variety of channels to drive interest and eyes to our broadcasts. The ideal candidate has experience with digital marketing concepts and strategy, and the ability to communicate in clear and concise English. Knowledge of Adobe Suite or other software to aid in content creation, WordPress and basic HTML/CSS is a plus.
