We are looking for a creative, strategic, and highly motivated Social Media / Community Relations Intern to join our growing team and help amplify our fire departments presence across various social media platforms.

Our Public Information team is integral in managing our communications efforts, ensuring the public is informed, and building positive relationships with our audience. (News media, residents, etc.)

As a Social Media / Community Relations Intern at The Coral Gables Fire Department you will be responsible for shadowing our Public Information Officer and Professional Standards division, creating, and optimizing our social media presence across platforms like Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and more. You will learn how to develop and execute social media strategies that drive engagement, brand awareness, and ultimately contribute to our department social media growth.

In addition, you will assist in managing communications and information sharing both internally and externally. You will gain hands-on experience in crafting press materials, conducting research, managing social media, and supporting the team in various public-facing activities. This internship offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in public relations, media relations, and communication strategy. You will attend local community events and learn how to create positive relationships between the Fire department and the public.
