DPMMR seeks a Marketing Intern for immediate hire at their marine mammal conservation facility in Key Largo. Successful candidates will have a base understanding of marketing strategies as well as be a “self-starter.”
The Marketing Intern will work alongside the marketing team to gain valuable experience within the skillsets of content production, social media marketing, paid advertisements, website design, graphic design, copywriting, email-marketing campaigns and some facets of traditional/print marketing. Further, the intern will participate in a lecture series and guided discussions to advance their understanding of marketing theories and industry standards.
Under the guidance of a mentor, interns will have the opportunity to develop or grow their professional portfolio and gain the experience necessary to obtain an entry-level position in the marketing field.
Although many of the internship duties can be completed virtually or off-site, the position will require some on-site time throughout the internship. This is a 3 month, non-paid internship.
Internship Requirements:
- Must have completed one year of undergraduate studies in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Non-profit Administration or a related field.
- Must be able to meet the 3-month time commitment.
- Must be 18 years old at time of application.
- Must be willing to accept the position unpaid.
Internship Duties: - Plan social media campaigns and generate the content for Facebook, Instagram, and Tik-Tok to support planned campaigns.
- Produce short video-clips to support overall marketing goals (e.g. filming, storyboarding, editing).
- Support email marketing initiatives
- Analyze marketing performance and optimize future campaigns as needed.
- Draft, Edit, and Distribute press releases.
- Assist with website maintenance and copywriting.
- Other duties as assigned

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Basic Website Maintenance
