The Event Operations Intern plays an integral role in planning, preparing, and ensuring that the details of the operation are successfully executed on game days and special events. This position will partake in all aspects and functions of a sports venue.

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for providing accurate and comprehensive event information to game staff and ballpark supervisors.
  • Assist in gathering all necessary information from all departments to compile, develop and prepare the circulation of event documentation prior to every game or event at loanDepot park.
  • Conduct daily walkthroughs prior to every game or event at loanDepot park; follow-up on outstanding issues with internal departments.
  • Assist in oversight and execution of the Batting Practice/Guest Pass System Program during game days.
  • Assist and support the Ballpark Services department in the coordination and execution of ballpark activations (may require physical labor).
  • Assist in administrative functions with special projects coordination and filing.
  • Facilitate site visits with external clients and event organizers.
  • Assist in managing the event booking calendar.
  • Quickly and professionally respond to inbound event leads; aid in generating event proposals.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Organized, detail-oriented, accountable and self-sufficient.
  • Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office programs
  • Ability to work during games, weekends and occasional holidays

Eligibility

  • Enrolled full time in an accredited university or college
  • Can meet the program time commitments: January 16th through October 31st
    • During the Spring/Fall Semesters: work not to exceed 30 hours per week
    • During Summer Break: 40 hours per week
  • Attend a Monthly Lunch & Learn with department leaders
  • Participate in a Volunteer Day with the Miami Marlins Foundation
