This is a full-time 6-month internship (dates are January 13th, 2025, through June 6th, 2025).
What You Will Do
The CAD Design department is responsible for the creation and modification of all computer drafting, graphics, 3D models and views generated (ground plans, detail drawings, schematic documentation, etc.) that helps to tell the stories of our live show offerings including parades, stage shows and special events on and off the Disney property, and on-board the Disney Cruise Line.
We are looking for an individual with an innovative mind-set and a passion for Disney quality and Magical creativity. We are seeking a motivated individual who will ensure that the Disney standards are reflected consistently in all design & technical materials.
As a CAD design intern, you will focus on two categories of work:
CAD Standards Development:
- The focus will be on building the assets and drawings for standards
- Create CAD blocks (with both static and dynamic properties)
- Build CAD library of CAD drawings and materials
- Assist in creating custom tool palettes of standard CAD blocks
- Create template files with CAD standards settings such as layers, fonts, leader styles, etc. built in
Project Work:
- Assist in creating 3D scans of areas in the Disneyland Resort that are requested for projects; learn how to use 3D scanner
- Find requested drawings using our online documentation database and help with creating drawing packages for projects
- Project drawing initial setup; create base template drawings; learn to setup cabinet assembly and schematic drawings
- Give assistance in creating location plan drawings for projects adding standard CAD blocks for various types of devices (speakers, projectors, data boxes, etc.)
You will also have the opportunity to:
- Facilitate a design from art concept through bid package as part of a collaborative design process
- Participate in appropriate Disney Live Entertainment seminars and meetings
- Coordinate conference room logistics for project/creative reviews and shows
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Basic Experience & knowledge in creating and designing custom AutoCAD blocks & drawings (layers, fonts, leader styles and annotative scaling)
- Experience in using tool palettes in AutoCAD
- Basic experience with, and understanding of, Rhino, Revit, and AutoCAD
- Experience with Unreal Engine and developing VR Experiences
- Familiarity with BIM Concepts and processes
- Computer proficiency within a Windows environment such as MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Your creative background and knowledge of the Entertainment industry
- Gaining trust through motivation and communication while handling conflicting priorities

Education
Be enrolled in an accredited college/university, taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months at the time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
- Currently enrolled as a Junior, Senior, recent graduate, or graduate student
- Major or previous coursework in Business, Supply chain, Finance, Data Management, Fashion Merchandising, Costume Technology, Apparel Buying, Apparel Development, Sourcing, or related field
Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Possess unrestricted work authorization
- Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or Disney College Program
- Be compliant with The Disney Look appearance guidelines
- Available to work full-time hours (approximately 40 hours per week; possible nights and weekends) for the duration of the internship
- Able to provide own housing in the Anaheim, CA area and have reliable transportation to/from work
