Your New Role  

This internship will be located in the LA area. The selected interns will be expected to join us in the office on a regular cadence based on the intern managers’ in office schedule. 

The theatrical digital marketing intern will work closely with the talent and influencer team for each film campaign from trailer launch to film release. This role will allow the ideal candidate to be creative and encouraged to pitch ideas as well as be part of the event planning process for film premiers. This role may require the intern to attend events such as screenings and premieres. The intern will be able utilize their passion for movie going and digital marketing in order to market our films for 2024. 

Your Role Accountabilities 

  • The theatrical digital marketing intern will help with the management of social and influencer campaigns and help with content for talent social. 
  • This position will work very closely with publicity and events. 
  • The ideal candidate will be able to proactively identify industry trends, the latest PR/social media news and competitive, relevant campaigns as well as other relevant tasks. The intern will be working on: 
  • Updating talent social spreadsheets for our 2024 theatrical releases
  • Reviewing influencer lists sent over by agencies
  • On the ground help at premieres, if available
  • Producing a weekly social media trends report to present during our weekly department meeting
  • Suggesting social copy for our social media posts
  • Adhoc assignments from the talent & influencer team, digital partnerships team, and social team

Qualifications & Experience  

  • Excel / spreadsheets knowledge
  • TikTok, Instagram reels and stories knowledge 
  • Excellent communication and organization skills
  • Must be actively enrolled in a U.S. accredited college or university degree program for the full duration of the internship (proof of enrollment required) 
  • Must be a rising Junior or Senior Undergraduate (18 years or older) 
  • Must be in academic good standing (3.0 or above GPA) 
  • Warner Bros. Discovery will only consider candidates who are presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and who will not require work visa sponsorship from Warner Bros. Discovery now or in the future in order to retain their authorization to work in the United States. 

Nice to have skills:

  • Capcut
  • Ability to create TikToks
  • Ability to have their finger on the pulse of new and upcoming social media trends and influencers
  • Interest in film, movies, digital marketing and / or social media

What to know before applying: 

  • The duration of the summer program regardless of which start/end option is 11 weeks.   
  • Program date options: 
  • Option 1: June 3rd – August 16th  
  • Option 2: June 10th – August 23rd  
  • Interns will be expected to work 35-40 hours per week in a hybrid capacity.  
  • Our internships are paid opportunities with a competitive hourly wage. Credit is not required; however, we will provide the necessary documentation for school credit if desired. Relocation is not provided.  
  • Interviewing will take place from February through mid-April. A WBD team member will contact you if your experiences and interests match an open internship position. Due to the high volume of applications, we are unable to give individual status updates.

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The rate listed is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery’s total compensation package for employees. Pay Rate: $19 per hour USD for undergrad interns, $25 per hour USD for graduate level interns.
