Job Description
Wellspring Counseling is seeking a Communications, Public Relations, or Marketing Intern to support the organization’s marketing, communications, and donor engagement efforts. This internship offers hands-on experience creating content, promoting programs and events, sharing stories of impact, and increasing community awareness of Wellspring’s mission. The intern will report to the Community Engagement Director and work closely with the Communications Manager.
- Hours & Duration: 10 to 20 hours per week for a total of 138 hours. Opportunity available in August 2026
through December 2026. A second opportunity will again be available January through May 2027 - Compensation: Internship position is not compensated. Intern may be eligible for college credits.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with creating marketing and communication materials to promote Wellspring’s counseling services,
programs, events, and mission. - Help develop content for newsletters, email campaigns, social media, website updates, direct mail, and other
promotional materials. - Assist with writing, editing, and proofreading marketing, donor, and community outreach communications.
- Assist with creating digital content for social media and fundraising campaigns, including graphics, short videos,
content scheduling, and researching engagement trends and ideas. - Assist with event promotion and help gather photos, videos, and stories during community events and
fundraising activities. - Help maintain and organize marketing materials, media lists, and communication resources.
- Conduct research on community partners, media outlets, and marketing opportunities to help expand
Wellspring’s reach. - Assist with donor stewardship by helping prepare thank-you materials, impact stories, and other donor
communications. - Perform other communications, marketing, and administrative tasks as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Pursuing a degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, Digital Media, or a related field.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Creative thinker and interest in nonprofit communications
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Willingness to learn and take initiative on a variety of communications and marketing projects.
- Strong attention to detail
- Must be discreet and confidential
- Experience with video production and editing a plus
- Appreciation for and comfort working within a faith-based nonprofit ministry.
