MFA Student Explores History of Film in Santander, Colombia

Before enrolling in the MFA film program at the School of Communication a year ago, Luis Jose Galvis Diaz studied journalism in Bucaramanga, Colombia, and worked as a television producer, a radio commentator and a film critic. President Donna Shalala Answers Student Media Questions About New Health Care Law

University of Miami President Donna Shalala held a press conference with student journalists earlier this week to talk about the opening of health insurance exchanges on Oct. 1. Film Students Experience Hollywood At Annual Canes Film Showcase

The School of Communication honored its outstanding students, alumni, faculty and staff on May 9 at its Annual Awards Ceremony. Dean Gregory Shepherd presented the awards amid family, friends, faculty and staff at a reception at the Student Activities Center. 17th Annual Canes Film Festival Will Highlight Student Work In Motion Pictures

The best student work in the Motion Pictures program will be in the spotlight May 2-4 at 17th Annual Canes Film Festival at the Cosford Cinema. The festival kicks off at 7 p.m. on April 28 with a screening of McConkey, a documentary presented by RedBull, followed by a Q&A with director David Zieff after the film.  Almost 100 student films and scripts will compete from May 2 to 4 for festival awards granted by influential judges in the entertainment industry.
