South Florida PBS’s internship program provides students with an opportunity to combine world experience and professional development to enhance their formal education. Our program serves to reinforce and strengthen the student’s personal values and career objectives through an improved understanding of themselves and the work environment. We provide practical world experience to balance the student’s theoretical training and allow students to meet and learn from professionals in the field and develop a network of contacts.
To be considered for an internship, students must be enrolled in college/university in which their coursework requires internship hours. Students must also provide documentation from their school stating that they will be receiving credit for their time spent interning at South Florida PBS.
Communications & Marketing
Individual with strong knowledge and understanding of the digital media landscape to help support online marketing and communications campaigns. Intern will contribute to SFPBS’s online outreach and promotion using Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and Twitter. They will also research and develop ways to improve engagement and site traffic and assist with other community engagement tasks, including online engagement. Intern will assist the organization with the planning and execution of community and outreach events; writing press releases, marketing plans, and copy for our monthly guide. Responsible for assisting with the organization, planning and execution of community and outreach events; co-sponsorships with community organizations. Marketing, communications, journalism, PR or hospitality majors preferred. Strong writing, editing, research, computer and communication skills a must. Must be detailed oriented with excellent communication skills.
