We are looking for outcome-focused communicators focused on transforming the way we tell uniquely Disney stories through engaging written and visual communication.
The Walt Disney World Communications and Public Affairs team is entrusted with shaping and elevating the reputation of The Most Magical Place on Earth through a mix of internal and external communication, media relations, issues and crisis management, content creation and more. From shining a spotlight on our Cast Members and community to supporting day-to-day media inquiries and issues to dreaming up new ways to tell stories that support our business, our team works collaboratively with other teams and lines of business across Walt Disney World to share and protect the magic!
As an Intern, you’ll contribute to creative and strategic communication and content creation that reaches approximately 80,000 cast members across WDW as well as our Central Florida community, media, and guests. This internship opportunity is an excellent way to get experience working with and contributing to a variety of internal and external channels!
What You Will Do
- Use your creativity and outstanding point of view to help ensure we tell our story and showcase our cast culture, community and business initiatives in the most innovative ways.
- Write engaging articles and produce content for internal and external communication platforms like our company intranet site, social media channels, and more.
- Craft thoughtful visuals that support our communication strategies across different mediums, including infographics, executive presentations, digital slides, and more.
- Get in on the action by participating in photo and video shoots and media interviews with reporters covering stories at Walt Disney World.
- Collaborate with the Walt Disney World Communications team to support day-to-day priorities including media monitoring and analysis and distribution of communication.
- Acquire new skills and get out of your familiar territory

Required Qualifications & Skills
- You love to write and can write in various styles and formats for diverse audiences and platforms (print, web, social media, and video).
- You are proficient in grammar and punctuation and have strong attention to detail.
- You have experience creating basic visual communication, including graphics, photos and videos, and a curiosity about developing your creative skills.
- You have project management and administrative skills and are a self-starter.
- You bring a positive outlook to the team and contribute new ideas with confidence.
- You’re a collaborator who can work well independently or in a group.
- You’re a quick learner who enjoys taking on new challenges and is willing to learn new skills, including software applications.
- You’re proficient in basic computer functions necessary to operate in a Mac/MS Office environment.
- You can remain calm under pressure and creatively problem-solve.
- You can work under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities while maintaining professional poise.
Preferred Qualifications
- You have experience with Adobe Creative Suite.
- You have experience in videography and/or photography.
- You know how to write in AP Style.
- You’re passionate and knowledgeable about Disney and its culture and are excited to help us shape its future.
Education
You’ll be an undergraduate or a recent graduate (within 6 months of your graduation date) pursuing a bachelor’s degree, preferably in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Digital Media or a related major.

Eligibility Requirements & Program Information
Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:
- Be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR have graduated from a college/university within 6 months at time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.
- Possess unrestricted work authorization.
Additional Information
- Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship.
- The approximate dates of this internship are June 2024 through January 2025.
- Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work.
