We are excited to announce that the 2022 summer internship program application is officially open! This year, the Society is partnering with the Emerson Collective, George Washington University, and Smithsonian Institution to form the Emerson Collective Youth Collaborative (ECYC). Together we will provide all of our interns opportunities to participate in networking and extracurricular opportunities designed to foster peer and professional connections across all ECYC partner organizations.

The Society will provide 50 college students with an opportunity to spend the summer gaining extensive professional experience, receiving support and guidance from National Geographic Explorers and staff, and helping us achieve our mission to illuminate and protect the wonder of our world. Not only is this a paid opportunity, but NGS will also provide housing and travel to all interns. Please note, you must be enrolled in a U.S.-based university and be eligible to work in the U.S. in order to qualify. You can learn more about the program, eligibility, and apply on the internship website. All applications must be submitted by February 28, 2022.

Note: All ECYC Organizations have a unique application process. You may apply to work with just one or all of the organizations listed. Please review each application to ensure that you are aware of their respective parameters. You can learn how to apply at the other ECYC organizations here.
