About the Program
The Oscar Pope Lift Every Voice Fellowship – named after NBA on TNT Marketing Manager Oscar Pope, who was a champion for amplifying underrepresented voices through training programs and platforms with TNT Sports before his untimely passing in 2021 – is a year-long program designed for students to prepare for a career in sports journalism.
In alignment with TNT Sports’ goal of championing equality on-screen and behind the scenes, fellows in this program will rotate through reporting assignments at TNT Sports tentpoles throughout the year.
2024-25 Fellows will have the opportunity to:
- Interview a professional athlete or TNT Sports Talent that will air across TNT Sports networks and digital platforms
- Shadow editorial and production staff
- Attend Production Meetings and receive mentorship from TNT Sports’ talent
- Create content for Bleacher Report
- Produce features, join play-by-play and studio talent
Application Instructions and Requirements:
The selection process is very competitive. The Lift Every Voice Committee at TNT Sports processes and screens applications to identify the most promising candidates. The most qualified applicants are selected to be finalists. They are interviewed by a panel composed of members from the editorial, social, marketing, and production teams at TNT Sports.
A well-prepared reel, carefully selected work samples, and an academic recommendation are key components to a successful application. Applications without all required elements are incomplete and will not be considered.
