UMTV Receives 11 Nominations for NBS-AERHo Awards

NBS-AERho is a national organization that recognizes the work of college students working toward a career in electronic media. UM Debate Team Advances to Finals at Liberty University Tournament
By: Jabria Roscoe University of Miami’s Policy Debate Team advanced to the final round of the Liberty University (LU) Debate Tournament held Jan. 24-26 in Lynchburg, Virginia. The LU tournament is a nationally ranked annual debate competition. The UM team of Julia Lynch and Zach Homeijer won five of six preliminary debates, earning them a bye into the quarterfinal round where they won a unanimous decision against George Mason University. Advertising Professor’s Proposal Wins AAA Research Grant
By: Sabrina Pizziol The SoC’s very own associate professor, Wan-Hsiu “Sunny” Tsai, is a winner of the 2019-2020 American Academy of Advertising Research Fellowship Competition. UM Student Publications Dominate National Awards Show
University of Miami student publications were recently recognized with top awards at the College Media Association and Associated Collegiate Press Mega College Media Workshop in Washington D.C. The 2018 Ibis yearbook picked up it 13th Pacemaker Award, while The Miami Hurricane and Distraction magazine were named as Pacemaker finalists. The Ibis was one of three college yearbook Pacemakers. The other two college yearbook Pacemakers were from Loyola Marymount University and Kansas State University.
