Job Description
Telemundo Station Group, part of the NBCUniversal Owned Television Stations division of NBCUniversal, is comprised of local television stations in the U.S. and Puerto Rico. Telemundo News Service (TNS,) provides content and coordination for these stations as well as Telemundo Affiliates across the country.
The responsibilities of the TNS Producer Intern include:
- Coordination of news coverage at TNS bureaus in US and Mexico
- Dispatch reporters to cover breaking news as it happens
- Handle requests from stations for video from different news events
- Write news scripts and edit.
- Coordinate live shots between reporters and stations around the country
- Generate story ideas, research and set up the content and interviews
- Collaborate with news producers, managers and photographers across the group to conceptualize, write, edit, and produce Telemundo news specials and packages based on either breaking or pre-planned stories

Job Summary
Helps plan and implement fundraising programs for Style Saves. Identifies prospects and solicitation, proposal development, mobilization of outside support, and coordination of internal support activities.
Duties:
Analyzes statistics on giving trends and recommends new strategies based on new trends. Responsible for building a portfolio and working with discovery assignments. Collaborates with Annual Giving to strategically move annual donors with capacity towards major gifts on behalf of the Style Saves. Maintains prospect and donor data at the highest level of confidentiality. Performs other related duties as assigned or directed. Identifies and cultivates donors to bolster financial support for Style Saveβs programs. Monitors progress towards achieving revenue goals. Reports regularly to the lead of Marketing and CEO. Works with leadership in establishing fundraising goals and researching philanthropic trends which affect organizational priorities. Assists in the development of a sound development plan and procedures to ensure efficient pursuit of funding. Maintains sensitive interactions with a variety of internal and external contacts. Serves as liaison with other departments as needed for special events, proposals, and programs.
Conducts research and stays abreast of prospective donors. Organizes and coordinates events, solicitation activities, and donor recognition events on behalf of the Style Saves. Eight current members of the WLRN News staff are former interns. That says a lot about how important our internship program is as a pipeline of talent into our newsroom β and talent is what weβre after.
WLRN News is seeking up to two talented journalists to join us for our fall 2024 internships.
We are a small but mighty team that punches above our weight, and we rely on our interns to help us cover the constant inundation of news that South Florida is known for. That means, in this position, youβll be pitching, reporting and producing stories for our radio newscasts, public affairs programs and WLRN.org.
In recent years, our interns have assisted with coverage of some of the biggest news stories in the region, including the 2018 Parkland school shooting, the 2021 condominium collapse in Surfside, elections and hurricanes. Some of our internsβ stories have even gone national onΒ NPRΒ and radio programs likeΒ Marketplace.
Throughout the experience, youβll receive training, coaching and mentorship from our team of top-notch journalists. We also provide audio recording equipment thatβs yours to keep.
For the fall, we will welcome either one full-time intern or two part-time interns, depending on candidate interest and availability.
Internships are 12 weeks, and pay is $16 per hour.

With a rapid audience shift to digital and an increasing need for a more technical workforce, the NAB Leadership Foundation is bridging the gap by offering the Technology Apprenticeship Program (TAP), an educational technical program designed to train, inform and recruit a diverse workforce that meets the emerging technology and engineering needs within the broadcasting community.
This hybrid size-month technical training program gives you the exposure, skills and connections to build a successful career in broadcasting. Through monthly virtual focus groups, webinars and hands-on training sessions, you will gain the technical skills and recognition to make yourself valuable and earn a position in broadcast engineering and advance your career goals. At the end of the program, fellows will attend an in-person closing session which will take place at NAB Show, the preeminent industry event where content professionals from all corners of media, entertainment and technology meet to reimagine the future of broadcasting and communications.
