Colonial Currents: Black Women, Water, Trauma, and Baptism marries still and moving images with poetic narration referencing history and the present. Themes of resistance, reparations, and a restoration of black women’s power in the wake of their middle passage lineage, racial/ethnic histories, and journey with the lingering currents of political frameworks, racism, hegemony, and post-colonial trauma. Intersections of dance, performance and storytelling overlap with fluidity and a new context of baptismal.
