Project Description

The “School of Communication VR Tour” is an immersive and interactive virtual experience designed to give prospective and incoming students a dynamic introduction to the University of Miami’s School of Communication. This project addresses the challenge of limited access to physical campus visits, providing a 360-degree visual simulation that brings the school to life in a way traditional descriptions and photos cannot match.

Utilizing 360° video and drone footage, the VR tour creates a realistic and engaging experience, allowing users to navigate key buildings, classrooms, and facilities. A personable narrator, portrayed as a graduating senior, guides users through the experience with relatable insights and a welcoming tone. This approach not only enhances visual engagement but also fosters a personal connection to the school.

The tour concludes with an interactive quiz to reinforce users’ knowledge of the school, offering a playful yet informative way to wrap up the experience. By the end, users feel more acquainted with the school’s layout, functions, and resources—such as classrooms, media labs, and equipment—empowering them to imagine themselves as part of the vibrant communication community.

Designed for prospective students interested in communication fields like Interactive Media and Computer Science, this VR experience serves as an innovative introduction to the School of Communication, inspiring confidence and excitement about joining the University of Miami.
