Senior Valeria A. Briceno spent her summer gaining hands-on experience behind the scenes at Univision Communications Inc. Originally from Maturin, Venezuela, Briceno is a double major in public relations and broadcast journalism.
Throughout her internship, Briceno worked as the production intern of hard news. She shadowed Univision’s technical crew and assisted in several programs including Noticiero Univision with Jorge Ramos and María Elena Salinas, Al Punto, and Noticias 23.
Briceno applied for her internship through the Univision webpage with the help of SoC Professor Sallie Hughes. During her time at Univision, Briceno worked hard to learn about producing hard news shows and the experience affirmed what she wants to do professionaly upon graduation.
